Preschool Open House

So glad we took this quick picture BEFORE David's preschool open house. We needed a quick shot of all of us for our 2nd post placement report next week.

Then we finally got a cute shot of my Mama with the kiddos. She is usually behind the camera so she doesn't make it into very many pictures herself.

Off to open house we ventured with an excited little guy. While waiting in line for our food (which was really nice of them to provide a supper), David was his usual self and found the counter top a nice place to hold onto and jump. Well, thankfully he didn't hit square in the forehead or between the eyes. Rather, he tried to scrape his nose off his cute little face. So, needless to say after some tears and a cookie, we still enjoyed his open house. And it will be a little while longer until I schedule a time to get all the of the kiddos picture taken...

Language EXPLOSION!

"Mommy, I'm hungry." "I want out, a ball, a cracker, outside, swing, ..." "David, David, David" "All done" On and on...every day more sentences are coming out of this little one. It has greatly decreased the whining which is LOVELY! Now, we are really going to get to know this little one's thoughts.

We went to the doctor today and she was so pleased with Lydia's progress. "She is a different child than two months ago!" Well, the crying was the same except it didn't last the whole time. Lydia has grown 2 inches and gained 6 pounds! The little dots on the growth chart are getting closer to the lines. We are so thankful for how God has kept her healthy!

I'll just let the pictures do the talking because this is one tired Mama...

An adventure through the woods...Sisters and Smiles

Ummm....maybe this isn't a good idea...

2 Months Home: September 9th

Kisses

I'm done Mommy...

See Mom...I'm big enough to sit on the bench.

Thank you to Papa and Grandma for a fun weekend!

Lydia's sweet babies all going to "sleep".
Mom, taking care of all these babies is hard work!

What if we had said no...breaks my heart to even imagine it!
What a blessing!

2 Months Home

I took Lydia to get her picture taken. I didn't know what the experience would be like, but I really would like to get all three kids' picture taken soon. I thought that I would let her try it by herself so that next time she would be more comfortable. Well, let's just say WOW! I almost spent way too much $ because of all the adorable shots! The lady photographer was excellent. Lydia started crying and tried to run out of the room at first. I explained our situation and the photographer just sat down on the floor and waited. Then we began with some shots of her teddy grahams...HA! Then Mommy and Lydia...I did not purchase those... And then smiles and giggles and wonderful pictures to remember her first months home!

Everyone asks how she is doing... She is truly a miracle and a blessing in our lives. I have to remind myself that she has only been in our arms for two months. That does not mean life is just peachy with perfect little smiles and politeness radiating from all 5 of us at all times. Have you ever met an almost 3 year old? (or the rest of us crazies?) She is busy, has a mind of her own, likes to do EXACTLY what her brother is doing, whines, cries, gives kisses, giggles, loves to brush her teeth, is putting 2-3 words together (although it is hard to understand), loves to swing, wants to go outside, does not like to be told "no".

Lydia's "new" adventures:
-kicking a ball
-fleece footy PJs...She had no idea what to think about that contraption that I zipped her into!
-high school football games
-blowing kisses on your tummy
-timeout
-riding in the seat on the back of my bike

What a blessing Lydia Vinita is to us!

I took more pictures of her in the brown chair, but at the moment I don't know where our camera is...

Preschool: Here he comes!

Here he is...first day of preschool! He was excited about his Lightning McQueen folder
and backpack and oh yeah...preschool. So, off he went!

He loved his balloon and name tag!
Anna talked me into a water slide today.
Really the only way to be outside in this heat is to be wet!

And then there was my not-so-good idea to try and take pictures this morning. They were so cute, but it was hot and sticky and well...I was kind of cranky, but here they are.

This cracks me up because this is life...real life!

This is Anna's idea. She shared with me that she wants a weeping willow tree in her yard some day with a hammock. Sounds good. I think I'll visit her and read a book under her willow tree!
