New Adventures and Beautiful Weather

 What a beautiful day!  We headed to the park to enjoy the afternoon.  Between all their discoveries and climbing adventures.  They let me take some fun pictures...

 Part of our "new" adventures include Lydia's first days of preschool.  This is a HUGE first for both of us because this is the first time leaving her without her knowing anyone.  We have been talking a lot about how preschool works.  She remembers dropping David off and picking him up last year which I think made her much more comfortable.  She makes me so proud!  She asked me on the way the first day..."It's just like Grandma's.  You leave me and then come back and get me?"  I assured her again and again that I would be back!  I watch the clock like a hawk because I DO NOT want to be late for pick up!  Anyway, with a smile and a hug, she was off to explore the room!  We are so thankful for all that she is learning on so many levels!

David's latest hobby...

And for the greatest "new" adventure...after many years of praying and thinking about it...we have made the plunge.  Anna and David are being home schooled this year by of course...me.  Why?  Because...when your heart is stirred you just have to trust the Lord and go for it!  Do we think Anna didn't have good years in our public school?  Actually, Anna has had excellent teachers and wonderful years of school for which we are thankful!  For this year, we felt it best to have them home.  I personally had no idea what homeschooling would be like.  I have to report that I love it and the kids are enjoying are new found routine of truly being together.  Learning and laughing and working together...  Surprisingly, I am teaching 5th grade and kindergarten which are the two grade levels that I taught before the kiddos.  Honestly, that really doesn't matter.  My heart is that our children enjoy learning each day of their lives, know the Lord Jesus, and follow wherever the Lord leads them.  That's it...that's our new adventure.  Four weeks in, I can say that it is so different than teaching in a classroom setting.  I love knowing what they are learning and what they actually know.  We are off and running for this year...fun times!
