8 Months (& a few days) Home

I have tried to take a picture of Lydia in our brown chair every month so that we can compare each month during the first year home. I am several days behind this month because every time I thought of it she was exhausted or dirty or both from playing outside. Today when I got her up from her nap, her hair was awesome! Her curls were going in every direction and so I bribed...yes...bribed her with jelly beans to give me some great smiles! :)

8 Months and a few days HOME

I love her hair. With more humidity today her curls were so adorable!

I L.O.V.E. this next picture! And is it me or does she look so...much...older...than even a month ago...

I'm not even sure where this little shirt came from, but today every time I read it, I thought of someone...

"Naturally" cute...yes...your birth Mama was on my heart today. I pray that God will be your comfort when you have questions. We thank God for your birth family. Look at you...what a precious blessing!

"Cheese!"

Eight Months Home:
  • you are beginning to "learn" (besides the millions of things you have taken in...like English) colors and counting
  • completely potty trained (except for a few times when you are too busy playing outside to stop and take care of things...)
  • you are having some skin issues with itching...we think you might not be digesting milk very well...we put you back on your toddler formula
  • you LOVE to carry around any bag or purse and fill it with whatever you can find
  • macaroni and cheese and grapes are favorites
  • you have begun "singing"...Your songs go like this: "Dabid (David)...Anna...Dabid...Anna" "Tinkle...Tinkle...little hmm" "Jesus lobes me...Bible tells me"
  • when you run, you swing your arms across your chest with a little side to side waddle look
  • you love to swing
  • you can climb up the climbing wall to our playhouse, but you insist on me standing there to help you if you need it
  • you like to slide but want someone to hold your hand
  • your feet finally reach the pedals on your bike and you are learning to pedal
  • we went to your preschool registration for next fall. You were so excited and now think that you need a backpack.

Easter is coming and if Anna has anything to do with it...Lydia will be decked out to the max! :)

Is it March or May?

The weather for here has been unbelievably gorgeous. Is it March or May because I can't tell. All I know is that tomorrow I have climb into the attic and find my summer clothes.

The kids and I have left the toys all over the floor, laundry piled up, and the sink full of dishes and headed outside every day this week.

Lydia loves being outside and is learning some outside safety rules...STOP!

David has lived outside this week and crashed every night. If you happen to drive by, don't be surprised if you see him in his snow boots carrying an air pump or sitting in his lawn chair or random garage items hanging on our front porch railing or him peeing on the tree or him riding his bike with his bike helmet (which he wears no matter what he is doing) or piles of dirt...I mean his "plants that will grow" or him shooting baskets out of the back of Erik's truck or whatever else he dreams up... I love his creativity, but I can't keep up!

Guess what...her feet reach the pedals! YEAH!

And then one day we were excited to play with baby JJ! Lydia never left his side.
She loved taking care of him!

Snack time in the club house...

Home...8 months...

We also enjoyed Anna's first piano recital. She did such a wonderful job. She had to paint a "sound picture" that represented what she hears when she plays her piece. Um...I will have to go take a picture of it. It was beautiful!
