The count down begins...

Yes, we have (almost) definite travel plans! Our daughter will be in our arms on July 4th! I say "almost" because we are finalizing exactly what day we will leave and return, but IT IS HERE! WOW! We are going to India!

I am at a loss for words...Truly, God has us in the palm of His hands. He has provided every step of the way throughout this journey. I know His grace is sufficient for the journey that is really about to begin. Thank you Heavenly Father.

Here are some details:
We started this whole process for real in the fall of 2008. Yes, 2008. (Do you know what happened on Oct. 30, 2008...Lydia was born:) We felt God leading us to wait until spring. So, we again looked into it in March of 2009.

Why India? Well, why not? We were open to any country. Actually, this was hard and easy if that makes any sense. We didn't think that India was an option for us. If you look into international adoption, you will find that right away there are many countries that are not an option just because of their requirements. At first we were really drawn to Ethiopia because we fit that program. We were excited because we have sponsored a child through compassion for the past 15 years and could have met him on our journey there. We just kept praying about what country...2008...2009...When we discovered through one of my many long sessions of cruising the internet searches that India WAS an option. God's peace and excitement and YES settled into our hearts. Off we started in our journey towards our little one in India.

April 26, 2010: After mountains of paperwork, we received our first glimpse of our daughter! Oh, how sweet!

Now, June 7, 2011: We are making travel plans and will finally be able to hold our little one, whisper our love, and drink in those sweet brown eyes!

And won't it be exciting to celebrate our "gotcha day" with fireworks every year?
